Abbiamo ricevuto dai nostri corrispondenti americani delle
ricette relative alla preparazione di dolcetti. Abbiamo provato a
sperimentarne alcune e le proponiamo ai nostri compagni di Caluso e San
Giorgio ........buon appetito !
Ball Cookies by
Alexa O'Connor
Ingredients:
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
frosting and
jimmies(colored sprinkles)
Ingredients for frosting: 1 cup confectioners(powdered) sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla and milk. Mix together. Add
milk until creamy.
Directions:
Beat eggs and sugar together until creamy.
Add milk, oil and salt. Add baking powder
To measured flour and mix together. Add
Flour mixture to wet mixture.
Preheat oven to medium temperature (350F).
Drop mixture by teaspoons on a cookie sheet.
Bake until golden brown(about 8-10 minutes).
When cool, frost cookies with above frosting and sprinkle
Colored jimmies on wet frosting.
Cherry Tarts

Ingredients:
2 ....8 oz. cream cheese packages
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tablespoon lemon juice(optional)
Can Cherry Pie Filling/topping
Directions:
Let cream cheese stand at room temperature to soften.
Mix cream cheese well with other ingredients. Cream
together until smooth.
Bake at 375F (medium high), for 15 minutes. Let cool.
Spoon cherry topping on. Refrigerate.
Coconut Pie

Ingredients:
2 large eggs
2 oz. sugar
6 tbsp. evaporated milk
2 oz. freshly grated coconut, or shredded coconut
1 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
8 inch pie shell, unbaked
Directions:
Beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add the grated coconut, the evaporated milk and butter.
Pour into the pie shell and bake at 450F(high) for 10 minutes,
Then 350F(medium) for 25-30 more minutes. Pie should be
like custard in the center when done. Pastry is lightly
browned.
Holiday Popcorn Balls

Ingredients:
1 Cup of margarine
10 1/2 oz. bag of marshmallows
1/4 cup honey
10 cups popped popcorn(placed in a very large bowl)
1/2 cup of dried currants(or chopped raisins)
1 cup of shredded coconut
1/4 cup chopped citron(candied fruit)
Directions:
Preheat a fry pan(skillet) for 2 minutes using medium heat.
Add margarine to fry pan. Once the margarine melts, reduce
heat to low. Add the marshmallows then. When the
marshmallows melt, add the honey and stir until blended. Turn
the burner OFF
And set the pan on a cool burner. Let the mixture cool for 5
minutes. Add the melted margarine mixture to the popcorn in
the very large bowl. Toss until the popcorn is
coated. Add currants, coconut and citron to the
popcorn mixture and toss well.
Next, moisten your hands with water. Take about a 3/4 cup
serving
Of popcorn mixture and pack it into a ball with your hands.
Repeat until all the mixture is used. Place balls on cookie
sheet. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and chill one
hour.
***You can wrap balls in colored cellophane and tie with decorative
ribbons. We hand them on our tree and serve them with our
Christmas breakfast
Oreo Pudding Pie by Desiree Tessier
Chocolate Pudding(already made)
Oreo pie crust
Whole oreo cookies
1. Make the pudding and set aside.
2. Get the oreo pie crust ready.
3. Pour the cooled pudding slowly into the pie crust.
4. Smooth the top of the pie.
5. Put the pie into the refrigerator for 24 hours.
6. Crush the whole Oreo cookies. Sprinkle them on top of the
pie.
SERVE!!!
